Our Impact

Seacrest Foundation provides $2.5 million in charitable care each year to seniors who may otherwise have nowhere to turn for help. It is our responsibility to care for those who came before us. In keeping with the 5th commandant, Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother, Seacrest Foundation raises critical funds to ensure that our seniors have a safe and loving home, healthcare, and supportive in-home services.

In the United States

1000
People turn 65 daily
1 %
Of older adults live alone
50 %
Of older adults have at least one chronic condition

We Must be Prepared to Care for the Increasing Number of People Who Need Us

  • The number of older adults will more than double over the next several decades and represent over 20 percent of the population by 2050.
  • Approximately 28% of older adults in the U.S. live alone, which can lead to social isolation and increased health risks.
  • Nearly 80% of older adults have at least one chronic condition, and 68% have at least two, leading to higher healthcare needs and costs.
  • Approximately 1 in 10 Americans aged 60 and older have experienced some form of elder abuse.
  • By 2030 the number of people aged 60 and older in San Diego County will increase by 130%.

Our Mission

The mission of Seacrest Foundation is to obtain funding in support of San Diego Hebrew Homes and Jewish Home Care Services, Inc. whose activities are designed to advance senior care and enhance healthy living by providing housing and supportive services.

Seacrest Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization which supports Seacrest Village and Seacrest at Home’s efforts to meet the growing and changing needs of seniors in our community. Funds raised support the provision of charitable care for residents and clients in need.

What does charitable care provide?

Image

At Seacrest Village, charitable care helps with the cost of daily living such as rent, utilities, meals, healthcare, memory care, transportation, and housekeeping.

Your contributions also provide for life enrichment events, outings, and social activities that are so crucial to the well-being of seniors. At Seacrest at Home, charitable care helps with the cost of full time or part time assistance with activities of daily living and companionship in the client’s own home. Residents and clients receiving charitable care may have depleted their savings due to illness, injury or some other financial difficulty, and they may have nowhere else to turn for help.

A gift to the Seacrest Village Resident Assistance Fund or the Seacrest at Home Charitable Care Program will help to provide the necessary funds for this care. The need for these services continues to grow as our aging population increases.

With a minimum annual contribution of $1,500 you will be included in the exclusive Patrons group, The 211 Club, and you will be invited to our annual Patron Recognition Dinner Party.

How much charitable care is provided each year?

Requests to Seacrest Foundation for charitable care exceed 2.5 million dollars annually. Approximately one in five residents of Seacrest Village need some form of charitable care, and the need continues to rise. Seacrest at Home provides nearly 700 hours of charitable care each year.
