Carrie and Jim Greenstein

“We are honored to leave a legacy gift to Seacrest Foundation because of our family’s long and meaningful history with Seacrest, which began 35 years ago when Carrie’s father volunteered at the 54th Street Hebrew Home. Carrie continued that tradition as a volunteer at Seacrest Village in Encinitas, serving in the Leichtag Family Assisted Living Residence and the Katzin Residence, where she was continually impressed by the compassion and quality of care residents received from staff.
In Jewish tradition, l’dor vador — from generation to generation — we believe it is our responsibility to pass down our values. Following our family’s tradition of giving one’s time, our son began volunteering at Seacrest in 2020. Just one month later, COVID disrupted all of our lives. He was invited to stay on as a staff member, assisting residents with FaceTime so they could remain connected to family members they could not see in person for more than a year — yet another example of the compassion and care Seacrest provides.
Over the years, our family members have also called Seacrest home — Carrie’s grandmother in the Lee & Frank Goldberg Residence Court and the Joseph & Dorothy Goldberg Healthcare Center, and Jim’s mother in the Joseph & Dorothy Goldberg Healthcare Center and the Katzin Residence. Through Carrie’s 15 years of volunteer service and our many visits with loved ones, we have witnessed firsthand the tremendous compassion and respect shown to residents. We feel great comfort and joy knowing that through our legacy gift, this exceptional care will continue for generations to come.” — Carrie & Jim Greenstein, 2026
