Gayle and George Wise

George and Gayle Wise

“I chose to leave a legacy to Seacrest Foundation because of the extraordinary care my husband, George, received during his six and a half years in the Joseph & Dorothy Goldberg Healthcare Center — there’s truly no way I could ever repay that. Creating a gift in his memory is my small way of saying thank you. For me, it’s a reflection of my Jewish values: honoring memory, caring for others, and building a future rooted in compassion.

I feel privileged to help ensure others receive the same exceptional care at Seacrest. It’s comforting to know that the legacy of Tikkun Olam — so central to our Jewish heritage, will continue through this gift. Born and raised in San Diego, George and I were deeply involved with the 54th Street San Diego Hebrew Home. From entertaining residents to bringing joy each Friday with my dog, Sam (Shmuely) — a Bichon Frise adored by many who remembered their own beloved pets — our lives were very connected to this community.

At a time when I didn’t know where to turn, Seacrest was there for both of us — and remained so for the rest of George’s life. My hope is that this gift brings comfort and care to others when they need it most. It’s the very least I can do.”   – Gayle Wise, 2025
